Hi.

“In this life you will have trouble, but fear not, I have overcome the world.”

This world and the part we play in it is beautiful. Yes, there is brokenness, but I want to look for the beauty of our redemption in it. The Lord has made all things new, even as He is in the process of making us new.

Join me in looking for the beauty in life through thoughts and poems. I am so glad you are here.

Friday Favorites (v.2)

Here is Friday again!  I am linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci to share some of my faves from this week.  It was definitely an eventful one.

Road Trips

I love Road trips (and plane flights) because you are stuck in a car with no distractions for an extended period of time.  You can read.  Catch up on life.  Or just stare out the window.

Last weekend we rented a minivan, packed it full of friends and drove to Minneapolis, MN.  What is Minneapolis you may ask?  Surprisingly, a lot of cool stuff!  We went for the people, but the city itself was so fun!

Notable stops:

  • Low Brow Cafe for brunch

  • Farmers Market

  • Cider works: Ciders and Apples to Apples… So fun!

  • Blue Door-one of the original makers of the juicy lucy, a burger stuffed with cheese and goodies.

  • UP Down- A 90’s themed Arcade bar including Pac Man and life-size Connect 4

It was a fun 36 hours!  Looking forward to more to come.

Valentine’s Day!

Now, I know people are either hot or cold about Valentine’s Day.  You love it or hate it.  I am not super all about it in the traditional way.  But I love little excuses for festivity.  Fun desserts, thoughtful cards, and free candy in unexpected places.  What is not to love?!

My Hubby’s birthday!

Valentine’s day and his birthday are one and the same so that means extra celebrations.  (I don’t really call him that in real life, btw… ick)  We got to celebrate all week, which is what he does best.  The weekend, a fun dinner just the two of us, chocolate covered strawberries from my mom, The Batman Lego Movie at a fancy theater, and family time.  This guy really teaches me to love life and enjoy it to the fullest.

Spring weather on its way

The sun has finally been shining!  Praise the Lord!  Literally so much more cheerful with just a little sunlight.  This has been a mild winter, but I am looking forward to all the Vitamin D soon.

Grace and Patience

Despite all the fun this week, I have still found a way to be grumpy and sensitive.  Grace and patience from the people close to me is my favorite.  Even silly jokes and surprise lattes in the midst of all my attitudes.
