Hi.

“In this life you will have trouble, but fear not, I have overcome the world.”

This world and the part we play in it is beautiful. Yes, there is brokenness, but I want to look for the beauty of our redemption in it. The Lord has made all things new, even as He is in the process of making us new.

Join me in looking for the beauty in life through thoughts and poems. I am so glad you are here.

Cloudy Morning Mercies

Cloudy Morning Mercies

New morning mercies

Dawn of a new day

New beginnings and hope

Mornings dawn with chances for fresh starts and exciting new opportunities

The Word says sorrow may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning

But what about those days that dawn dark and gloomy

When your spirit isn’t excited for new opportunities

When your filled with dread of the unknown

And all you can see is more chances to fail

What about those mornings when nothing feels fresh and new

When yesterday’s problems sit at the end of your bed

Waiting for you to wake

Because they have some things left to discuss

When you wake to emails reminding you that your payment is late

And your child is sad

And your coffee is cold

When you feel defeated because you are not supposed to feel defeated

Mornings are for positive outlooks

Not racing heart beats and anxious thoughts

When you feel like you have already used up all your new mercy

Before the breakfast dishes are done

In these moments of weakness we are no less seen

No less known

Grace meets you in the doubt and in the assurance

Grace whispers to You

Remember

Remember I am here

Remember who I am

The same One who greets you every morning

Because I did not sleep

The One who does not need new mercies

Because I am mercy

I am not disappointed by your weakness this dawn

Because I have eternity filled with joyful mornings to share with You

So tell me all Your troubles

Give them to me one by one

But do not try and take them back

I am not worried about the day ahead dear one

I planned it from the beginning

I am planned to be with you every step of the way

In those moments that feel heavy

Remember to take a few steps back to me

Let my presence relieve your fear

Sit with me for awhile

And we will face this day together

And you will sleep well tonight

Knowing that tomorrow I will be here once again

Today need not be your best day

But let it be our day
