Entertaining Insecurities
What if we entertained our neighbors
Like we entertained our insecurities
Welcoming them in often
Hearing them out
Believing what they say
Nourishing them with food that will help them grow
What if we cast out what is untrue
What tells lies and makes us turn inward
What if we made room for our neighbors
Instead of our insecurities
After awhile of pounding at our door
Demanding to come in
We might find them drowned out by laughter
And the quiet stillness of a heart to heart
We might even see them leave us be
Because they find us not needing
The company of our failures
Because we have surrounded ourselves
with that which brings life
