Snow Day Poem
A few inches here
And a few inches there
A wonderland at our doorstep
That should be enough
We say
Enough to keep us inside for a bit longer
Enough for a rest
Yet it continues coming down
Enough, we think
Enough rest
We have things to do
Places to go
People to see
People to be
Snow is it’s own sabbath
A rest from the doing
An opportunity for being
And resting
And knowing
That everything can wait a little longer
The One who spun the snow
Will keep the world spinning
As we watch it from our window
