Hi.

“In this life you will have trouble, but fear not, I have overcome the world.”

This world and the part we play in it is beautiful. Yes, there is brokenness, but I want to look for the beauty of our redemption in it. The Lord has made all things new, even as He is in the process of making us new.

Join me in looking for the beauty in life through thoughts and poems. I am so glad you are here.

Purpose and Asking Why?

Purpose and Asking Why?

Sometimes things happen

And they don’t make sense

They are inconvenient

And painful

And not at all what we expected

it’s hard to find the good

And we ask “why?”

Because we need to find a reason

We need something to reassure there is a purpose

That God is present

He did not fall asleep on the job

This didn’t sneak in under his nose

We need a reason

So we ask ‘why?”

We look around for a purpose

We pray for a sign

But sometimes

We just need to know there is a ‘why’

And to trust in God’s sovereignty

To trust that he was present in it all

He wasn’t distracted

He wasn’t spiteful

That even if this doesn’t feel good

it is the best plan

That the detours and disappointments are not for nothing

That God weighed all the results and decided this was best

Best for you

Best for those around you

Best for the ultimate plan

He was not silent

Not standing by passively

He was in every decision

Every circumstance

Every problem

And every detour

He is not absent

He does not punish

Everything is for our good

And His glory

And if we saw the whole picture it would all make sense

But we need to be ok with not seeing the whole picture

We need trust what we don’t see

Or don’t feel

God is for us

And he doesn’t need our permission or validation

But he will be with us through it all
