Hi.

“In this life you will have trouble, but fear not, I have overcome the world.”

This world and the part we play in it is beautiful. Yes, there is brokenness, but I want to look for the beauty of our redemption in it. The Lord has made all things new, even as He is in the process of making us new.

Join me in looking for the beauty in life through thoughts and poems. I am so glad you are here.

Friday Faves (v.3)

Friday!  You have arrived.  This weekend is looking like it might be full, but with a lot of different stuff than usual.  But I am looking forward to a change of pace.

This week I am linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites.  Looking forward to reading everyone else favorites.

1.  One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp

I love reading but I don't often go to the library because there are too many books to choose from.  Preferably I like to read books with a good recommendation or an author that I am familiar with.  While perusing the shelves, I noticed this book that I remembered vaguely hearing about once.  Luckily I gave it a shot.  It is not finished yet, but it has stirred some thoughts for me to process through.  Read a little of my thoughts here and here.

2.  My husband is a music guy.  It is what he does.  And lately has been playing this song on repeat.  Especially with Easter coming up, this song has really gotten me excited.  I love the passion and joy in it.

3. Cooking... I love cooking.  It is a creative outlet for me.  Plus, picking up food is too easy.  I like the idea of making something.  However, we are normally running all over the place on week night, and weekends too if I am honest.  But this week, we were able to make a few homemade meals.  A friend on mine posted about this one from crumbs and coffee on her instagram story.  We tried it, with a few modifications based on what we had on hand.  It was pretty fabulous.  I highly recommend it!

4. Coffee Dates

As I mentioned before, Valentine's Day is shared with my husband's birthday here.  So on Saturday, we woke up and he told me that my Valentine's date was a reading date at a favorite coffee shop.  I felt so known and loved.  The gift of time is one of my favorites.
