Hi.

“In this life you will have trouble, but fear not, I have overcome the world.”

This world and the part we play in it is beautiful. Yes, there is brokenness, but I want to look for the beauty of our redemption in it. The Lord has made all things new, even as He is in the process of making us new.

Join me in looking for the beauty in life through thoughts and poems. I am so glad you are here.

Thankfulness in 2020

Thankfulness in 2020

Our tables will be less crowded this year. There may be more food. Less noise. Fewer dishes in the sink. The space, empty chairs at our table, may feel like an insult. A constant reminder of how much this year has stolen from us.glaring evidence of lack. In that space something will grow. Loneliness. Regret. Or maybe most likely and most dangerously, bitterness.

But God is not a God of lack. He is abundant. May we leave room. May we look to Him when our souls feel raw. When we are reminded of what we can’t have.

Because God in His abundance fills. He overtakes. His presence will fill the empty spaces. Will crowd out despair and lift our joy. His presence will cast out the dark and shadows. Will bring companionship to the loneliness. His presence is worth our attention.

May this season we find an appreciation for the momentary space. May we recognize the gift of His presence in a way we might not have noticed before. Because He will remain.
