Oh Death (A Holy Week Poem)
Oh death
Where is your sting?
Felt in flesh and heart
But not in soul
Death is defeated in eternity
Loss still felt?
Separation still mourned
In the now
In the temporary
But felt still
O death
Where is your sting?
But felt in entirety
On calvary
That our pain
Is but a shadow
Our separation
But a brief parting
The One who felt
The depth of pain and loss
Mourns ours still
If even for a moment
Fleeting as it may be
