Nothing Today

I got nothing done today

All I did was make breakfast

lunch and dinner

Washed up the kitchen

More than once

Just picked up toys

And bathed kiddos

I only sent some emails

And vacuumed the floor

I didn’t see anyone today

Except my kiddos

And kissed my husband

as he walked out the door

I only saw the chashier at the grocery store

And a mom at the park

I saw the preschool teacher

But only for a second

And only sent a few texts

Back and forth to my friend

I got nothing done today

But every minute was

And my family is safe

And our hearts are full

As well as our stomachs

And we laughed a little

And cried some too

I got nothing done today

But all this nothing adds up

to a whole lot of everything

And all these days of nothing and no one

Will lead to a life that was full of love
