And yet
When hope is lost
Mind, heart, and body
Friends that stick closer than a brother
All waste away
“In this life you will have trouble, but fear not, I have overcome the world.”
This world and the part we play in it is beautiful. Yes, there is brokenness, but I want to look for the beauty of our redemption in it. The Lord has made all things new, even as He is in the process of making us new.
Join me in looking for the beauty in life through thoughts and poems. I am so glad you are here.
And yet
When hope is lost
Mind, heart, and body
Friends that stick closer than a brother
All waste away
Enough, all day every day
I hate the word enough
But it is the soundtrack of my life
The search for enough
So while God is a God of order and peace, He might use what we perceive as chaos to remind us that we cannnot manufacture our own outcomes in life. That we are not the ultimate authority in what happens to us.
“Oh death, where is your sting?” This phrase has been echoing in my mind this Easter season. Now more than ever, I understand the true sting of death. The sting does not feel lessened. And yet, we approach the celebration of when death was defeated.
Oh death
Where is your sting?
Felt in flesh and heart
But not in soul
There is beauty in a sunrise
And also beauty in the clouds
Spring comes with new blooms
And just as many rainy days
So when you are
on the mountain top
do not hold back
But there are seasons that feel defined by the waiting. Waiting on the Lord.
Whether it be for clarity, for an answer, for direction, or for a seemingly earned reward.
But there are postures to waiting.
Proclaim Truth at the top of your lungs
That those sanding I. The valley will hear the melody
And not only will they be given a song to sing into the darkness
But it will lead them home
The night was silent
or so it is said
As the Heaven’s waited in anticipation
Much of the world had given up waiting
